That Buisness DressImagine your heart pounding, palms sweaty, and your mind racing. You're sitting there, looking at your competition as they all go in, resume in hand, confidence exuding their exterior. You're nervous, hoping, that you will nail this interview and potentially see yourself in your new role. The last thing that you want to have on your mind is did you dress for the part? Job interviews can be one of the most stressful things that we go through in our adult lives. There's a lot of pressure put on someone, whether they fit the criteria, or how they act, all the way down to how they dress. Even though we hate to admit it first impressions can be everything. I have been on quite a few interviews over the years especially after graduating college, and I am going to list my top 3 go to business attires that will WOW the bosses interviewing you. My first is the business casual dress, I love vibrancy, like the yellow one that I chose to wear above. This dress is from New York and Company and it's quite form fitting while being elongating. Not only is it covering a lot of my body, which is appropriate for an interview, but it's also sophisticated with a bit of fun added. I love the collar neck and the buttons going down the front of the dress. I'm always a bright person, so I used a vibrant mustard color because it's perfect for the summery months. I paired it with some Kristen Cavallari yellow heels that I simply adore. If you want to get way more sophisticated you can pair this awesome dress with a nice white blazer. I recommend wearing blazers especially if you're wanting to look very business professional. It's okay to play around with your outfit, you can even add a bit of costume jewelry, just don't make anything to gaudy. You want to maintain the trendy yet professional look as you dress to impress your boss to be. Remember, it won't kill you to add a bit of color to your interview outfit but remember to keep some aspects minimalist. Dress LINK: (couldn't find the exact dress but one close to it!) www.nyandcompany.com/Eva-Mendes-Collection-Brita-Shirtdress/A-prod13790002?gclid=CjwKCAjwg_fZBRAoEiwAppvp-dL-f963cdzZCHbuuynyrvZjNLBxNq4lYY7Og6ymQANTPEoAm-JwBhoC6H4QAvD_BwE&cid=sem_psg_shopping_Clothing&s_kwcid=AL!5230!3!200927800549!!!s!296971079641!&ef_id=WUGKjgAAAGBGliB4:20180705233208:s The Classic Pencil SkirtLadies, you can never go wrong with a classic pencil skirt. Not only is it flattering showing off curves without being revealing, but, it can be as colorful or neutral as you want it to be. This high-wasited pencil skirt with the matching jacket is perfect for a first impression. Not only is the color a nude and natural color but you can play around with some colorful accent jewelry to make it stand out more. Always pair the skirt and jacket with a blank canvas, aka a white or creme colored under shirt. That way it doesn't get too distracting and messy but stays clean and crisp. I would wear some nice nude heels. Remember ladies, nothing too high, you don't want to look too made up. Something perfect to walk in, that wouldn't make you stumble about. LINK: www.express.com/clothing/women/high-waisted-striped-clean-pencil-skirt/pro/07668070/color/PINK%20STRIPE The Pants SuitLadies, nothing says I'm ready, I'm a boss, and I'm here to slay, like a colorful pants suit. I am obsessed with this vibrant blue jacket and matching business pants. Pairing this with a nice dress shirt, in either black or white, can make you embody a vibe of business chic. I love the detail that the silk cami has underneath making it perfect for a great night out also. You can rock your interview, with the jacket, then afterwards remove the jacket and meet your girls out for a celebratory drink later. The best part about this outfit is that it doesn't even need a lot of jewelry, the simplicity of it all speaks for itself. LINK: www.express.com/clothing/women/blue-editor-barely-boot-pant-suit/ens/cat3250001 Remember, to create a look that describes who you are. When you dress, to benefit you, it makes you feel like the ideal version of yourself.
Walk into that interview with your head held high. Remember, that you are special and no matter what, that employer is lucky to have you. I hope these tips have helped give you an idea on what to wear for an interview. Either way, smile, and hold your head up high! Remember, no matter what you wear you are beautiful. Until next time happy FriYaY! xoxo Rachel

Happy Fourth of July!Hello Loves, I wanted to wish you all a wonderful and exciting fourth of July! There is nothing like drinking a ice cold beer, socializing with family, and watching the fireworks light up the sky. I love the fourth because it allows us to celebrate the small victories that we had as a country. True, our country may not be perfect but we have grown and come such a long way from before. This year I wanted to rep my country and be as patriotic as I could be. I found all my items at the lovely Target, one of my favorite, but dangerous(I can spend so much), places to shop at. The shorts were perfect because they have little American flags imprinted on them. Now, I am taking it way back, but, they almost remind me of those 'Party In the USA' shorts that Miley Cyrus had in her video, do you guys remember those? The shirt is super breezy and we all know I love wearing red in general so I had to opt to get it. It comes perfectly off the shoulder and the fabric is so comfortable to where I don't feel like I'm consistently sweating. Recently, I have been super annoyed with wearing purses and carrying them around everywhere. Therefore, I was super obsessed when I found this American flag fanny pack. Not only can it hold a bunch of items but it's so travel friendly. I love the convenience and safety of just having it around my waist. It's also perfect for when you want to go running and want to throw a small amount of items on you. I even got picky with my sandals! They're from the dollar section in target, imprinted with the American flag as well and guess what, it was only 3.00! I seriously felt like the all American girl in my red white and blue and I wanted to share it with you . I am going to link all the items below! Similar Shirt: www.target.com/p/women-s-short-sleeve-off-the-shoulder-t-shirt-who-what-wear-153/-/A-53177552?preselect=53150791#lnk=sametab Shorts: www.target.com/p/women-s-high-rise-stars-and-stripes-shorts-mossimo-supply-co-153-medium-wash/-/A-53267067?preselect=53042095#lnk=sametab Fanny Pack: www.target.com/p/striped-nylon-fanny-pack-mossimo-supply-co-153-red/-/A-53152165 All in all I hope that your beers are cold, your beaches warm, and your spirits bright! Remember, to show your pride today and think about all the sweat, tears, and love that brought us to where we are today.
Thanks for taking the time to read my blog post I hope this outfit inspired you! Until next time. xoxo Rachel The Perfect FitThere's nothing like being on the beach on a hot summer day. Laying out, smelling the fresh water and feeling the sand beneath your toes. I am a beach bum, and I find most of my summer vacation spent laying out in the sun. I get annoyed when the sun hits me right in my eyes so I was on a mission to find the right sunglasses for me. The Skyline Specs were designed to give me that perfect fit. Not only did they keep the sun's rays out of my eyes but they're super comfortable and trendy. I love the engraving and how you can customize your specs to fit your personality! There's so many colors you can choose from, but I opted for something I could wear daily, so I went for the chic black look. I love the wooden aspect on the sunglasses and the coolest part is your city can be featured on your glasses making it unique, showing off your city pride. I love how the company even features up-and-coming artists from Minnesota that embodies creativity and hometown pride! I am always eager to support student start ups that connects communities and bring people together! You should all check out these awesome shades and get yourself some sunglasses that will be fit for YOU. SKYLINE SPECS LINK:www.skylinespecs.com/index.html The SwimmyWe all know I have been obsessed with one-piece swimsuits lately. This babe lilac colored swimmy was perfect for the sandy beach. Not only is this color flattering on every shade of skin-tone, but, this fabric and shape is perfect for holding everything in, hiding those danger zones. I wore my target high-waisted shorts creating a comfortable beach vibe.
I'd love to hear from you guys! What is your favorite swim suits, message me on instagram, or comment below! I've been looking for new and interesting ones! Happy Monday! xoxo Rachel The EventOn Sunday I had so much fun attending the Randolph Street Market. My friends and I had the opportunity to walk around and witness so many awesome street vendors show off their products. I love art, and they had some phenomenal pieces on display! However, my favorite vendor was ErvinNic a wonderful jewelry designer that hand crafts custom jewelry and clothing in Chicago. Not only were the owners super sweet but they also found custom pieces that seem to complement our personalities perfectly! I got a beautiful pink crystal ring that went so well with all the pink that I was wearing. He even threw in a wonderful decorative necklace to match. If you want to find out more information about them, check them out on IG @Ervin_Nic The Outfit: JumpersCan we talk about my love for jumpers? I simply adore them. Not only are they completely comfortable, but, they are also extremely trendy as well for all body shapes. There is a funny story about this jumper that I got from forever 21. A couple years ago my best friend, Natalie, and I went shopping at Forever. She found the same jumper, in her size, and it was the last one. We both loved it but she ended up purchasing it, and rocking it! I looked every where for this jumper but sadly Forever 21 had sold out. Fast toward almost five years, and now I finally found this jumper on Poshmark.com. I was so excited because not only is this color perfect for summer, but the fabric is super comfortable and I love the flair leg. This jumper was perfect for a summer market and it inspired me to create this blog post listing my top two favorites. Are you ready to Jump for joy for these jumpers? I know I am! Leaf Print Yellow JumperI recently came across Good Nigh Macaroon on instagram and I simply adore most of their clothing. This jumper is so beautiful. Not only is the design perfect for those longer summer nights, but the color is bright and fun. I love the white leaf imprint and the best part about this jumper is that it comes in a green color as well. I love the feminine button down aspect and the spaghetti straps. The flair legs is perfect for shorter people because it can give the illusion of a taller waist and leg. The print can also distract from unflattering areas that you're trying to hide. You can pair this with some heeled sandals and some boho ear rings bringing the whole look together. I am listing this jumper below. LINK: www.goodnightmacaroon.co/collections/jumpsuits-rompers/products/misti-cami-leaf-print-jumpsuit-2-colors Stripped JumperI cannot describe how much love I have for this entire outfit! Not only is this jumper great because it's so colorful but it hugs and shows all the best parts of the body. It elongates the legs creating a lengthy look and can be worn so nicely with a platform heel. However, it doesn't have to only be worn with heels. It can also be worn with a nice sandal to make it look more toned down and 'everyday'. The key hole cutout is one of my favorites adding a bit of spice to this jumpsuit. I have been obsessed with stripes lately and this beauty has just enough to create a classy and sophisticated look for anyone. Class it up with some statement ear rings and it's perfect for any night out on the town. The link is below. LINK: api.shopstyle.com/action/apiVisitRetailer?id=703228855&pid=uid1761-40444681-68 Jumpers can be so much fun! I am glad that something from my past could inspire my future! Keep me updated, what's your favorite jumpers? List them below or message me on Instagram. Until then I hope you all stay positive, thanks for continuing to follow!
Until next time, xoxo Rachel Rompers are literally my obsession. There's nothing more comfortable and classy like dressing up in a sophisticated romper. Recently, I have been wearing a ton of color. As you all know, I am no stranger to blending different patterns, and colors together. However, sometimes I don't mind getting in line, and wearing a stripped item now and again. What I love about this romper is that it can pass as a dress. It's super light and allows you to breathe with it's slight amount of fabric. Although I am a huge fan of colorful attire, I think there's something classy about wearing black and white together. The best thing about rompers is that they can be as trendy as you want them to be. You can dress them up, sort of like I did, by wearing some heels. Or you can be comfortable by wearing some sandals and stunner shades. It's all about what makes you feel comfortable! Chickaberry Boutique has some great items listed on their site! Not only are there items reasonably priced, because who doesn't love fashionable items on a budget, but they're super trendy as well! The best part is that I've partnered with them and can give you an additional 15 percent off your purchase! All you have to do is use code RACHELMICHELLA15! On this post I'm listing my two favorite rompers on my blog, and the best thing, is they're all within the budget! Floral white romperAnything floral is super fun and exciting to wear! Not only is this romper super feminine and classy but it can be worn for any occasion. I love the colors that blend together to create such a summery blend. Tie wasted items are also flattering when you're trying to hide certain danger zones, and they're best for shorter people accentuating the torso, making you look like you have a bit more inches than normal! LINK: chickaberry.com/collections/playsuits-jumpsuits/products/floral-robe-playsuit-2 Muffin RomperI know the front part is what people normally notice first, but, can we talk about how amazing the back of this romper is? I am obsessed with the crisscross back because not only does it hold everything together perfectly, but it's delicate and beautiful as well. There's something so elegant and intricate about this romper, plus the detail is stunning. I love how simplistic the top is but the bottom is colorful like a piece of art. Pair this with a lovely choker and some heels and you're ready for a girl's night out on the town! LINK:chickaberry.com/collections/playsuits-jumpsuits/products/muffin-playsuit Rompers can be so much fun! I love outfits where you can wear for multiple use and these are definitely made for that! What are your favorite ways to wear rompers? I'd love to hear from you! Also, if you're feeling these awesome rompers, remember to use my code, RACHELMICHELLA15, to get your discount.
Stay lovely ladies. Until next time xoxox I cannot believe most of June is already over. I'm super excited because that means that my birthday is coming up! I seriously cannot wait I will be keeping you guys up to date on my birthday plans throughout the next couple days. However, July means American pride because the fourth of July is vastly approaching. When I think of the fourth I think of barbecues, fireworks, and prideful colors of red white and blue. I am so excited for the fourth, and what to wear, that I am listing 3 of my top outfits for this all-american holiday! The White Shirt DressThe white shirt dress is fantastic for any occasion. I love how comfortable it can be but it's also classy and trendy. This is perfect for a nice barbecue, the material is really light and airy, so if you're in 100 degree weather, surrounded by smoke, you won't sweat too much. I got this awesome shirt dress from Forever 21! It was on sale for 17.90! I paired it with some pink sandal heels and costume jewelry (T&J Designs) that my best friend Natalie got for me. Now, if you don't want to be as fancy as me, totally understandable, you can pair this dress with some sandals and no necklace. DRESSLINK:www.forever21.com/us/shop/catalog/product/f21/dress_white-dresses/2000262109 Off The Shoulder Ruffled ShirtEveryone knows I love showing off the shoulders. It's the sexiest and classiest thing you could expose. There's something so elegant and sultry about an elongated neck with a off the shoulder shirt. Therefore, my friend Becka, is sporting an awesome white off the shoulder ruffled top. Pairing this shirt with some high-waist shorts, will be perfect for this 4th of July holiday. The great thing about this shirt is you can get it in any color, red, white or blue! There's numerous places that you can find this type of style, however, I found it under 30.00 at Forever 21! SHIRT LINK: www.forever21.com/us/shop/catalog/product/f21/top_blouses/2000112616 Striped Cami ShirtLulu had the right idea, stripe is right, when she paired some high-waist ripped jeans with her striped cami. This is perfect for going to the beach, or to a lake house, grilling marshmallows until the fire flies come out! I love this outfit because it's super casual but is trendy and colorful as well. You can even dress it up by wearing some sandal heels and a nice little choker necklace. Ripped jeans have always been my favorite because there's something so edgy about them. If you're on the shorter side, like us, then tucking your cami inside your jeans will be flattering and make you look a bit taller. I found a similar shirt to Lulu's and it's only 12.90! I am linking it below! SHIRT lINK: www.forever21.com/us/shop/catalog/product/f21/sweater/2000258841 No matter what outfit you choose to wear I know you will look fabulous! Remember, to think about the importance of our freedom and how this holiday means so much more than fireworks, s'mores, and barbecue. It stands for the people who risked their lives to create a country of love, respect, and independence. I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
Until next time xoxo Rachel Guys, it's starting to finally feel like summer! This week it's supposed to be warm and in the 80's and 90's. This is the perfect time to lay out, soak up some sun, and head to the beach. Now, I know we all made new year's resolutions to eat better, work-out more, and focus on ourselves. However, if you're like me, and the summer snuck up on you, then you may not be as bathing suit ready as you'd like. It's okay, you're not alone, I know when this time of year rolls around I'm super excited, but, there's a lot of pressure for women to feel sexy, and skinny, in bathing suits. You may feel overwhelmed trying to find something suitable for you, or you may feel uncomfortable being in something that feels like a second skin, opposed to an outfit. All of these feelings are totally normal! We all go through them. One of the things that I loved about this Shein pink backless ruffle bathing suit is that it's flattering on all body types! I have a shorter torso, something I've talked about before on the blog, and sometimes I don't feel the most comfortable sporting a bathing suit. This beautiful, flaming pink swimsuit, was exactly what I needed to break me out of my comfort zone! I have always been a fan of one-piece bathing suits, because I love how it can be sexy yet classy as well. The ruffles on this swim-suit it super stylish and the best part is that it comes in a bunch of different colors! I'm on summer vacation, so I am on a HUGE budget. This bathing suit is only 11! Which definitely is a steal! Not only is it comfortable, but there's built in pads to add that extra leverage that you need. I love customizing my bathing suits so if you don't feel comfortable wearing it by itself add a summery kimono or cover up to it! I also wore a floral head band and shorts making it great for summer! Make it your own, you never know what styles you can come up with! LINK: us.shein.com/Open-Back-Ruffle-Swimsuit-p-453435-cat-1866.html Now, if you're feeling sassy and want to show off your hard work, it's okay to trade in the one piece for a high-waist bikini. If you have long legs this will extenuate your body perfectly and add all the right coverage to the areas you may not feel comfortable exposing. This awesome bathing suit is striped and just the amount of fun that you need! It reminds me of a ray of sunshine which is perfect for those long Chicago nights! You can even add some shorts to this swimmy and take it out on the town. LINK: us.shein.com/Stripe-High-Waist-Bikini-Set-p-498877-cat-1866.html I've heard a lot of women tell me that they don't necessarily enjoy showing off their shoulders. Therefore, this swim suit would be perfect for you! Not only is the color flattering, for all skin tones, but the off the shoulder look goes well with all body types. I am obsessed with items that you can wear for multiple uses. Pair this swimmy with a high-waist skirt, some light brown sandals, and you're ready to go! Coverage is key when you don't feel 100% comfortable. LINK: us.shein.com/Scalloped-Trim-Flounce-Bikini-Set-p-508176-cat-1866.html Now, if you're wanting serious coverage I suggest using a nice one piece. Not only is stripes flattering, covering what I like to call, the danger zones of your body, but it's trendy as well. This crosscross back is such a fun design but it can hide all the lumps and bumps that you don't want people seeing. I love bright colors and these bright stripes can pave a desired body image. Add a nice sunhat with some jean shorts and this can be a perfect summer swimmy for anyone! LINK: us.shein.com/Crisscross-Back-Striped-Swimsuit-p-453949-cat-1866.html Thanks so much for taking the time to read this bathing suit spread! I hope you find the right swimmy for you this summer! Remember, no matter what shape, size, or comfort level you're on, you're still BEAUTIFUL. Be fierce, be bold, be YOU.
Until next time! xoxo Rachel Growing up, yellow was never a color I was comfortable with. I did a recent post about how I would never even look at the color. However, one of my new years resolutions was to get out of my comfort zone, and wear something I normally wouldn't. Colors and styles is what I challenged myself to do. I've become quite fond of the mustard color, it fits with all different types of skin tones. Recently, the bow-knot two piece has become increasingly popular. Not only is it comfortable but it's also quite trendy! I love how it extenuates the smaller frames. I'm only 5'5, with a smaller torso, however, the way this two piece fits, can give the illusion of length where areas seem small. I paired this two piece with a bright pink flower necklace and the same color heels. Sometimes, it's fun to get out of your comfort zone, so I am dedicating this post to my least favorite color, yellow. Below, I am listing the top 3 outfits that I think would be flattering on everyone! The outfit that I am wearing is from Artisinal clothing, remember you can get 30% off using discount code: Rachelmichella30! LINK:artisanal.clothing/ Option number 1: I am all about summery dresses. There's nothing better then getting off of work, with the sun shining, going out to meet friends or a significant other in a nice airy dress. This Donna Morgan dress, from Nordstrom rack, is perfect for any body type. It comes to just below the knee and has a lovely ruffle sleeve and boat-neck. This color yellow is one of my favorites because it's not too bright but not extremely dark either. It complements lighter skin tones and also looks fabulous on dark ones. It can be worn in the office with a pair of open-toed shoes, and a blazer, then perfect for a girl's night out as well. Did I mention it's under 40?! LINK: www.nordstromrack.com/shop/product/2167337?cm_mmc=feeds-_-adlucent-_-google-_-pla&utm_source=adlucent&utm_medium=feeds&utm_content=google&utm_campaign=pla&utm_channel=shopping_acq_p&sid=545650&aid=%5BADL%5D%20%5BPLA%5D%20%5BShopping%5D%20-%20Categories%20-%20Non-Brand%5BDesktop%5D&gclid=CjwKCAjwpIjZBRBsEiwA0TN1r0vHhTZiqo0Y3VaV9avCsJpLRC8lZqqjRmfqBwepaA7h-DhrWqTNxhoCXX4QAvD_BwE&kwid=productads-adid%5E93310059517-device%5Ec-plaid%5E158550926196-sku%5E14053258-adType%5EPLA&color=SUNNY%20YELLOW Option number 2: Now, everyone loves a sultry tight fitted dress that makes them feel beautiful in their skin. Imagine going out to a nice, candle-lit dinner, with someone you care about. If you want to go that extra mile, and feel sexy, this dress is perfect for you! I love how this dress comes off the shoulder, revealing the delicate aspects of skin, while upholding a classy and sophisticated vibe. This John Zack dress, paired with some black heels, would be perfect for a dinner date night. Falling just under 70, it wouldn't fully break the budget. Besides, aren't we allowed a few indulgences from time to time? LINK:us.asos.com/john-zack-tall/john-zack-tall-off-shoulder-ruffle-midi-dress/prd/9656696?affid=14174&channelref=product+search&mk=abc¤cyid=2&ppcadref=753857711%7C43330786718%7Caud-296630238630%3Apla-450616284120&_cclid=v3_c14af13f-5b9e-5d0e-85f5-c242f9b95971&gclid=CjwKCAjwpIjZBRBsEiwA0TN1r9T9fAbG5oitcwUp68FzsOw-hv8o-NR5u1F_IJuTLEHbKxk4bte-XxoCUwAQAvD_BwE Option Number 3: I am obsessed with rompers! I love everything about them, from the style, to the comfort, to the overall thrill that you feel while wearing them. This embroidered, off the shoulder, mustard colored romper is simply to die for! Chicago has a lot of free street festivals coming up and this would be a great outfit to wear to that. I would pair this with some comfortable brown sandals and some big sunglasses, in this outfit prepare to walk in style this summer! The beautiful thing about rompers is that it's form fitting for all body shapes, making everyone feel confident, crisp, and cool! LINK: www.lulus.com/products/oaxaca-mustard-yellow-embroidered-off-the-shoulder-romper/460452.html All in all, I hope you guys liked some of these outfits that I listed! Yellow can be tricky, believe me, I used to not like wearing it. However, sometimes, fashion is about stepping out of what makes you comfortable and diving into the unknown. I hope I gave you some inspiration for a color that can hopefully bring some sunshine into your life.
Until next time happy friday!! xoxo Rachel “Your education is a dress rehearsal for a life that is yours to lead.” —Nora Ephron ,lIt is that time of the year when graduations are happening! It's so exciting to see young, successful, driven people working their hardest to reach their potential. I remember four years ago graduating from college, thinking the sky is the limit. Being a teacher, I got to see all my students graduate and it was such a beautiful experience. I got to watch parents, grandparents, and all the in-between come together to celebrate the success of their child. There's something beautiful about watching a proud parent bask in their child's hard work and motivation. One of my favorite things about graduation is figuring out what you will wear. I always find bright, summery colors exhilarating, but being in the teaching role, I wanted to be colorful but professional at the same time. I decided to go with one of my favorite designers, Lilly Pulitzer. She's got some great summer dresses that are perfect for graduation. I decided to go with the Mila shift dress, color seasalt blue on parade! The dress was under 200 dollars as well! I wear a size 0 and one thing I love about Lilly Pultizer is her designs fit shorter statures, making me look a tad bit taller than normal, especially in the torso. Not only was this dress super fun, with it's bright greens, pinks, and blues but it was comfortable too! Now, if you're looking for some dresses, on a budget, I've listed three other, under 100 dollar options to wear for graduation that will make you look absolutely fabulous! 1st: here is a link to my LILLY PULITZER DRESS!: https://www.lillypulitzer.com/mila-shift-dress/889069342111.html?gclid=Cj0KCQjwmPPYBRCgARIsALOziAM26yooYGgNgDlvA7yVwB8xlG8DwwFy2LdtenX-HEA8ADSIFOojCOgaAlrCEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds 1ST option: I love this lace trimmed dress. This is super elegant and awesome for graduation. It can be customized to either be super formal, or laid back and casual, depending on the look you're going for! Also, it's under 70.00! Remember, you can get 30 PERCENT OFF THIS PRICE BY USING MY CODE: RACHELMICHELLA30! Using my discount code will take an additional 30% off as well. LINK: https://artisanal.clothing/collections/dresses/products/blue-striped-wrap-dress I hope you guys enjoyed this graduation post! Until next time, stay smiling! xoxo Rachel "She who leaves a trail of glitter is never forgotten." -Kate Spade Yesterday, June 5th 2018, I received several texts from friends letting me know that Kate Spade, one of my favorite designers passed away. Not only did Kate Spade embody poise, elegance, and grace but she personified the everyday woman. Kate took risks, making her designs bold, filled with color and patterns that not every designer thought about using. She believed that women are beautiful, with a cocktail in hand, and confetti in their hair. Her designs told stories of different cultures, of women, and lives that we could all relate to. This blog post is dedicated to HER, because real legends could never be forgotten. Although this dress is NOT designed by Kate Spade, but by an online boutique called sundress, I found that the bright colors, and tassels, embody a lot of her flavor and pzazz. Kate said "I believe that playing dress up begins at age five and never truly ends." I played dress up as a little girl. Adorning myself in giant pearls, my mom's high heels, and smeared make-up on my face. It became a part of me. Fashion became my way of expression as it is for most women. Kate Spade has inspired a lot of my fashion, in fact, she was one of the first designers that encouraged me to create this blog. Over the summer her brand did a challenge every day. One, was to do something you've never done before. I have always been a avid writer, but, I never thought that people would actually read what I have to say. Kate gave me the courage to start this little blog, and look how far it's come! Through Kate, I've chased my dreams, in the tallest pair of heels that I know. I'm living, as colorfully as I can, and I know that she lived by that motto as well. I will remember her words, to stay quick, and curious, and strong. I will be the best that I can be and continue to chase what makes me happy. This blog is dedicated to an icon, a role-model, and a brilliant designer. You will be missed! Here are some more pictures of my Kate Spade inspired dress! I simply adore this color and it's perfect for Summer! It's in size xsmall. The back is simply my favorite!
Until next time, live colorfully babes! xoxox Rachel |
