Making a list and checkin' it twice! Are you making that Christmas list and checkin' it twice because you have no idea what to give people this Christmas? I don't know about you but this has been one of the toughest years to figure out what to gift people. It could be because there's so many things to choose from, along with figuring out who is appropriate to gift to. The holidays are always a bit sporadic and sometimes they come before you can even think. Therefore, I wanted to help and list of some of my favorite gift ideas for family, friends, and even your dear old boss. The FamilyIf you have a massive family (like I do) gifting can be a bit difficult. I feel like the older you get there's this unseen pressure that you have to out do siblings, or other family members, by gifting the best gift. Honestly, that isn't true. You family loves you and they're probably just happy to be around you for the holidays. However, you still want to feel festive and gift them something that they will love. For parents, I normally gift my mom and dad something together. This way it can be a bit more extravagant but be something they can both use. Last year I got them a knife set from Target. It was under 50 dollars and it's something they could utilize in their everyday life. Not only is it a safe choice but it is also something that they can use daily! For the significant other, especially if this is your first Christmas together, can be hard and a bit scary. You never know whether to gift high, low, or in the middle. The best thing to do is be honest. Ask your significant other to list three things that they really want. Out of those three things you can choose which to get. That way it's still a surprise but they can be content with what they receive. However, if you're a veteran dater, or simply don't want to ruin any surprises, a cheat solution is to check out their amazon carts or lists. I cannot tell you how many gifts I've found for my husband that way. Gentlemen, if you're looking for the perfect timeless gift for your lovely lady check out out my collab with Daniel Wellington's watch you can use my code to get a bit off your purchase. Ladies, if you're having a hard time finding something nice for your guy I suggest a nice briefcase. This is perfect for all age groups whether they be in school or in the working world. FriendsFriends can be a bit tricky especially if you have a lot of them all in different groups. One of the things that my friend group does is small little white elephants. Now, you may say that's so vague how do I go about doing that? It's simple, create a budget that everyone has to follow. The norm is at least 20.00, that way no one is left with a smaller or cheaper gift. You know your friend group, they may be goofy, or polite, or glitzy. Customize the gift so you know that no matter who receives the gift they will still enjoy it. Everyone gets a gift and no one is left out. I like to inspire others and my friend group so I gave out a book allows them to list the things that they want to do everyday. This way they can slowly become inspired for the new year. BossThis one is a catch twenty-two (As my mother would say). I would only gift my boss something if you feel like you have that type of relationship. I've been in situations where I have great bosses, and we exchanged rather lavish gifts. However, I've also had bosses where gift-giving would would make them uncomfortable. The safe choice: always go for a Starbucks gift card. It's the perfect memento, everyone loves their morning beverage, and it just gives them the notion that you appreciate them. All in all, don't stress out over gifts. The holidays are meant to celebrate the time that you spend with one another. Appreciate your family, friends, and the people that inspire you everyday. I hope that my Holiday Guide could help shed some light for you this Christmas Holiday! Also, my hat is from the Lovely Target. It can also be a great little gift for those Harry Potter fans out there. My star sweater and skirt (found similar one) is also from Target and can be a perfect outfit to snuggle into during the Christmas time!
Until next time be merry and bright! xoxox Rachel

Rockin Around the Santa Baby Bar!Hello loves I hope you all are having a great time leading up to the holidays. There is nothing that I love more than the feeling of nostalgia as the holidays approach. Butterflies assemble in your stomach as you watch cheesy Hallmark movies, bake Christmas cookies, or see the first snow dust the ground. I felt pure bliss as a child because nothing got me more excited than Christmas. It was the time that my mom would make her best dinners, I'd get to stay up a bit later (waiting for Santa of course) and I could see family that I normally don't see often. As you get older it may feel like the magic you once felt gets washed away. Work, school, and adolescence kicks in and time seems to whisk by so quickly that the holidays may seem like any mundane day. That is why I get so excited to be as festive as I can commemorating my favorite holiday. I am not going to lie I followed the Santa Baby Bar for quite sometime so when I finally had the opportunity to go I was extremely excited! Pictures do not do this place justice. If you wish to truly get transported to a Winter Wonderland then Santa Baby is for you. Located in Wrigleyville this pop up is the perfect festive tradition to add to your holiday week. There is no short of holiday cheer here. In fact, the entire bar is decorated from head to toe with beautiful elaborate trees, tinsel, and of course ornaments. Not only is the decor festive but the drinks are pretty awesome as well. We had an enormous hot coco that was filled to the brim with fluffy marshmallows. Oh, did I mention that it was spiked? Nothing says holiday cheer like a bit of spiked coco which tasted so good you simply couldn't stop drinking it. I also love Christmas music and the bar made sure to play not only my favorite holiday tunes (with a dancing remix) but some holiday movies as well. While we were there we could talk, sip hot coco, and watch the old Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. The bar brought back this feeling of home. It's weird how certain songs, movies, or even drinks can conjure the feelings that you loved as a child, it truly is a memorable experience. The outside is the perfect place for photos. There's a fantastic light display and several places for people to go get their holiday shoot on. I of course had fun snapping some shots, I even got my holiday card idea from this pop up bar. If you are late, like myself, and are looking for a festive place to shoot your holiday cards I recommend checking this place out, you'll look like you're in the North Pole. I always love it when the service is up to par with the food and drinks. This bar had some of the best service that I have ever witnessed. Not only were the staff friendly, always checking in on us, but they made us feel like we were apart of their big Christmas family. You can't find that type of hospitality anywhere.
So if you are in the Christmas spirit and are looking for some fun festive things to do I recommend checking out The Santa Baby Bar, there shouldn't be anything ho ho-lding you back. Until next time loves, xoxox Rachel Taste the Rainbow with SushiSushi is one of my favorite meals to eat. It's a growing phenomenon that has swept across America within the last couple years. Places where you thought you'd never be able to find sushi, now has major locations on every other street. I have always found the art of sushi to be interesting because it truly is creating an artwork with food. The flavors are stimulating and Tomi is taking the outside aesthetic to a whole new level. Sushi is already pretty intricate to create but Tomi Chicago is bringing a new name to 'tasting the rainbow'. Think of your favorite color (mine is pink obviously) now imagine decorating your sushi to fit your personality. Imagine having a gender reveal party, or a bachelorette party with matching colored sushi, it seems like such a fantastic idea!
Tomi is conveniently located in Revival Hall downtown in the Loop. It is perfect for that well-deserved lunch, intimate dinner, or that bit of gossip time that you need with your girlfriends. The atmosphere is perfect, with sprouts of color, and a calm and modern design. Did I forget to mention this sushi is made with a freakin' robot? This creates a smaller wait time so you can have your sushi effectively done in a limited amount of time. Meaning, more time to eat, less time to wait. Trisha, one of the brilliant minds behind this concept, wants sushi that is inexpensive, creative, and meaningful for everyone "I want office people, workers, students to be able to afford sushi, but how can I do that without serving trash?” Bun says. 'If I don’t feel comfortable eating sushi, I won’t offer it to anyone. I don’t want to give anyone BS, because I don’t have any tolerance for BS.” I had the pleasure of speaking with Trisha while my husband and I experienced some of their sushi. She is one of the kindest people I have ever met along with being one of the most passionate. It's not every day where you meet someone who truly wants to see people smile and make a difference in their dinning adventure. It was humbling to see that she continued to ask us how we enjoyed the food, making sure we had the best experience possible. The food was also amazing, we tried a variety of different sushi, and accents that they had and it was so difficult to pick a favorite. The entire meal was like a work of art, all coming together to create this dynamic story for our eyes and of course our taste buds. Also, did I mention it's a gluten free menu? Meaning, everyone can enjoy! Tomi was such an amazing sushi place one that I will definitely be frequenting often. If you want to learn more, check out their website, I am linking it here. I hope you all have a fantastic Monday loves! Once again thanks so much for taking the time to read, I appreciate it more than you know! xoxo Rachel Trick and Treat YourselfHey loves and happy Monday! I am so excited because Wednesday is Halloween which is one of my favorite holidays to celebrate. There is nothing like getting dressed up and being one of your favorite people or characters for a day. I remember my first Halloween costume as a kid. I have always been a fan of Ariel, she was bold, a hopless romantic, and had the best Disney princess hair. I jumped on the opportunity to get decked out to fully become the melodic mermaid. I remember my mother getting my red wig she even went as far as to sow Flounder on my tail. Lets just say I went above and beyond for my costumes. As a child and teenager I remember spending so much money to transform myself into different characters. However, the older I got I realized Halloween can also be about the creative elements. Doing your own costumes can sometimes be the most memorable. If you are like me, and life is hectic, but you still want to be festive this is for you! I am listing some easy DIY costumes that won't break the bank, but will allow you to partake in some spooky fun! I was so excited to shoot this Clueless look. I have always been a huge Cher fan because she was like a real life Barbie. I loved her retro fashion, her confidence in herself, and the entire girly persona that she portrayed. However, trying to find a costume for her was proving quite difficult. Luckily, I stumbled across the Clueless collection at Forever 21! I was so excited to get the graphic T that says: As if and pair it with an adorable black and white striped skirt. The best part about this outfit is that it doesn't just have to be worn on Halloween it can be worn so many different ways. I added a light pink blazer to the mix with some tall knee high black boots to fuse the entire look together. This is a modernized take on Cher's timeless fashion. Funny story while I was shooting this an adorable puppy caught my attention. The owner was walking by and saw us doing our little shoot. She was extremely friendly and was nice enough to let me burrow this friendly pup for the shoot. This lovely canine's name is Sismis which means bat in Croatian. Both he and his owner are from Croatia and she actually rescued him and took him back to America so that he could have a better home. If that doesn't make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside I don't know what does. I was so lucky to meet these two amazing people and I just had to give them a shout-out on my blog. Besides, I think he honestly made the outfit come together. Team MinionMy friends and I decided one year of college to dress up as minions. Now, this is the best costume for when you want to get a bunch of people together and match. It was super easy to do! All you need are yellow shirts, they can be customized however you'd like. You can have long sleeves or short sleeves. We found our short sleeved shirts from Charlotte Russe. Afterwards, we went to five below and found some easy suspenders that we added to our jean shorts. Now, if you're more comfortable wearing pants use jeans opposed to shorts and still get the same effect. For the googles we literally used plastic cups and put them on headbands. Super simple, easy, and altogether so much fun to do! To Narnia: AKA Your ClosetNow, if you are extremely busy and don't even have time to go out and get stuff for a costume, it's okay! I got you covered. There's so many items inside your closet that you could use for a costume. If you have polos, skirts, and ties you can always go as the notorious school girl. Most of the stuff you may already have especially if you were like me and went to private schools all your life. If you have a really tight dress, or outfit you've been dying to wear, utilize it! All you need to do is add a bit of smeared red lipstick and trickles of it coming from you lips and call yourself a vampire! If you have some baggy colorful sweaters, leggings, and head warmers you can turn that into an 80's chick costume. All this stuff is easy, cute, and can be worn again! Halloween can be so fun but choosing the proper costume can sometimes be expensive, stressful, and altogether hard! I hope my little tips helped sparked some ideas. However, if you're still stuck check out this link it will help you with some more ideas! Have a great Monday loves!
Until next time. xoxoxo Rachel Gemma GangThere is nothing better than coming home, after a long day of work, and seeing friends, while getting festive for the fall season. My friend Paula was kind enough to open up her home so that we could decorate pumpkins, eat snacks, and of course drink wine (what could be better than that?). The fall is my favorite season so of course I always get excited to partake in pumpkin carving or decorating. We all decided that we would bring a specific thing to the party and of course I opted for bringing wine, you almost feel like the hero when you do, because let's face it, everyone gets excited when wine gets thrown in the picture, wine not! I wanted to bring a wine that everyone could enjoy and luckily I found the perfect wine! Gemma di Luna's moscato is not only crisp, but embodies so many different flavors that sends your taste buds into a frenzy. I have to admit the bottle alone is gorgeous, I love it's bright Tiffany blue color, it practically stands out against anything you put it next to. It's the goddess of wines. However, everything can have a pretty face (or packaging) but the inside is mostly what counts. My friends and I loved drinking the wine for its fruity fresh aroma. I am also a huge advocate for women and doing some research I found that this wine's motto and story is something wonderful, empowering and promoting women. This wine was designed for the everyday woman, the woman who strives to chase her dreams, who is a mother, sister, daughter, and hero to the people who care about her in everyday life.
All of my friends are different races, backgrounds, occupations, but together drinking Gemma di Luna, we laugh, eat, and feel connected like never before. Taking the time to see one another is difficult. We all have such chaotic lives but it's important to take that time and breathe, do stuff you enjoy, and of course drink a lovely glass of wine. All of us are making such crazy transitions in our lives, I started a new chapter in life, so did a couple of my other friends with jobs, love, and family. I feel as if the smaller things we need to celebrate because so often we focus on the negative. You got a 'good job' at work, you helped someone on the subway, or you just looked in the mirror and thought wow I look good today. It's those small things, that tiny bit of magic in the mundane, that should be celebrated. I had so much fun decorating my pumpkin, in fact, us girls got pretty creative (especially as the drinks flowed). However, it was so nice just to be surrounded by powerful, amazing, and talented women that I am fortunate enough to call my friends. I am so happy and want to say thanks to Gemma di Luna for helping make our pumpkin decorating night a bit more magical and I am thrilled to be apart of the Gemma Gang. If you want to know more about Gemma di Luna I am going to link more information below. Also, if you want to find where the wine is sold I'll link a separate link so you can put in your zip and find the closest store near you! I hope you all have a fantastic Monday and remember that you are fierce, you are beautiful, and you are powerful. xoxox Rachel Link to website: gemmadiluna.com/our-gemma-story/ Link to finding store: gemmadiluna.com/where-to-buy/ Dark Felt HatsI remember being in 5th grade going to one of my first school dances. I was so excited to go shopping with my mom to pick out the perfect outfit. There is nothing more exhilarating and exciting then getting that perfect outfit and taking the first steps of discovering your style. I remember going into Rave Girl, which sadly, no longer exists. It was like an epiphany as I laid eyes on the slouchy black hair with the diamond square embellished on the side. It reminded me of something that J.LO would wear in one of her music videos and I knew that I had to have it. That is when my love for wearing hats started to bloom. I normally don't wear them too often, but, the fall is especially my favorite time to bust out the beautiful different color hats. I am obsessed with this felt hat that I got from Target. Initially I wasn't going to get it, It was a bit out of my comfort zone, but my best-friend and her mom told me that it looked awesome on me. With their blessings and encouragement I decided to get it and ultimately they are who inspired this post: talking about the different hats that I love to wear for fall. Not only is this sweater, shirt, and boots perfect for fall all of them being from Forever 21. This hat also brings out the promise of fall as well. I have a pointy more oval shaped head so I have to be more careful when I wear hats. I don't want anything to swallow my head or make me look gaunt. Therefore, this hat is perfect for my head shape and others as well. It can also be paired in so many different types of ways. The Captain's Hat is made for style and leading because it commands attention. There is such a misconception that hats are merely worn for when you're having a bad hair day. Sure, they can definitely help when you have one, and should be utilized, but they can also be planned as an amazing accessory to your outfit. I am obsessed with the maroons as we talked about in different posts, so, going a bit bolder with color is always fun especially with these styles of hats. However, I listed a neutral black as well because it can pretty much be worn with everything. These hats are also great for elongated face shapes giving that edge and definition that we need. Wool Felt HatsIt is no secret that I am a lover of all the European Period pieces like Pride and Prejudice or Wuthering Heights. There is something so elegant and regal about these hats, gaping our generation to theirs, and that classic elegance is what makes me adore these hats so much. These hats I would wear as we get closer to the winter and colder months but they're such beautiful pieces to use on your head. I love the shape and how decorative some of them can be. I am showing two of my favorite colors from these shaped hats and the best part is that they can be worn any type of way. I prefer to wear it with a wool skirt, some stockings, knee high-boots, and a sweater. That would bring the entire outfit together! Not only making it comfortable and warm for those colder months but stylish as well. Well, I tip my hat to you all and I want to say happy FriYay! Thanks so much again for taking the time to read my post I hope that I have given you some exciting ways to play around with hats! Until next time have a great weekend!
xoxox Rainbow CardiOne of the best things about the fall is being able to layer. I am a huge fan of packing cardigans on over sweaters, shirts, or blouses. This gives that extra little effect to not only keep you warm but keep you trendy. Now, I know I have been talking about a lot of fall attire lately but I wanted to dedicate a post to my favorite little cardigans because sometimes they can be pivotal for outfits. A lot of times people simply just find whichever cardigan is in there closet, or, whichever keeps them warm enough and throws it on over their outfit. Believe me, it's normal, I am even guilty of doing this as well. However, with a bit of planning, and this spread, hopefully I can shed some light on some of my favorite cardigans and how to wear them. I know I keep talking about certain colors to wear for fall. I mention the earthy tones, the bronze, golds, and tans, but that doesn't mean you can't have a bit of color thrown in there every once in awhile. I am obsessed with this awesome rainbow cardigan that I got from Amazon! We all know that I adore colorful things but this cardigan is me to a T. It reminds me so much of a rainbow and I love it. I wore it with a sweater dress that is a Maude colored pink. Pairing this with some small booties brings it altogether. Believe me in this cardigan I can taste the rainbow! The Basic CardiThese are the best cardigans that I ever did see! Not only are these colors neutral, which is nice for wearing with everything, but they are perfect comfort level. I could image wearing a nice white blouse underneath with some jeans tucked into some knee high boots. This cardigan can be worn to the pumpkin patches with some friends, enjoying fall activities, all the way into the work place when you need a little extra warmth while the air conditioner is blasting too high. The versatility is pristine in this because there's so many avenues that you can wear this! The Long CardiI have to admit that I am feeling this long cardigan trend. I am obsessed with these for two reasons, one, they can hide all the unwanted areas, which is always nice (especially after stuffing yourself with pumpkin pie). Two, they give the illusion of being so much taller than you are, which, us shorter people definitely love (Least I do). As the pictures show above they go really well with pants and t-shirts but my personal favorite to wear them with is shirts tucked into either leather skirts or cute fall time checkered skirts. With some small calf boots it will pull the entire outfit together perfectly. I hope that this spread on cardigans really opened your eyes on how to stack them and wear them. They really can be the perfect accessory if you take the time to plan them properly. Until next time I hope you have a fantastic weekend!
xoxox Rachel The Classic BeautyHello loves and happy HUMP Day! I hope you all are having a fantastic week so far. I have always been a lover of jewelry. In fact, I was the girl in high-school that matched all her accessories to her clothing. I am a huge fan of timeless classic jewelry that embody people like Audrey Hepburn who is elegant, beautiful, and chic. I have to admit that I was elated when I was approached by Daniel Wellington to collab with them and help them launch their new stand alone accessory! The New Classic Bracelet is breath-taking. Not only is it timelessly elegant, but, it's perfect for all the occasions that I do throughout my busy schedule. It's feminine and sleek fitting perfectly around my wrist, which is so difficult for me to find sometimes (I have abnormally small wrists). There are also different colors from you to choose from depending on which you feel the most confident in. Here is my bracelet listed below: www.danielwellington.com/us/ I decided to wear my Daniel Wellington bracelet and watch out for dinner with my husband. Sporting the beautiful rose gold colors together really shone nicely against my white sweater dress that I got from Forever 21. I think that it's dainty but elaborate design is the perfect statement accessory for all occasions. It was my husband's birthday on Sunday so I took him out to dinner with his parents and they couldn't help but notice my sparkling bracelet. Daniel Wellington's story began quite some time ago, and his designs are known for their minimalist and romantic feel. I couldn't help but be honored to sport one of their pieces in their collection. If you are interested in also learning more and getting a bracelet of your own you can use my code Michella giving you 15% off online and in store! You can also bring this classic beauty home with you! Women are glorious, we work hard, we're strong, we're as intricate as rainbows and we need statement pieces that can follow us throughout all of paths in life. I hope this bracelet can join you whether you're a mom, a business owner, or a teacher as we pave the way for a new tomorrow.
Thanks again for taking the time to read my blog! I appreciate everyone's feedback and I hope you have a day full of sunshine! Until next time. xoxo Rachel Down For the BrownHello Loves and Happy Friyay! I am so excited that we beat this crazy week and are finally at the weekend. Starting Saturday we're going to hopefully experience actual fall weather, because, let's be honest, it's been in the 80's and 70's pretty much all week. Not saying I'm ready for the cold because I love warm weather, but, I am so excited to start dressing for my favorite season. I have to admit that I was so excited to see some of the trees starting to change colors. There's something so magical about the falling leaves as they litter golden hues along the pavement. Those colors, the warms of autumn, has inspired this blog post! I am going to be picking my top 3 favorite colors to wear in the fall! There's some colors that just pop during the Autumn and the first color I am listing is brown. Normally, I try to stay away from warmer darker tones, but fall is the perfect time to wear it. I have even experimented with brown eye shadow, lipstick, and eye liner. I get a bit fairer in the winter and fall so I have to be a bit more careful with too dark of colors but the browns always bring out the natural tan in your skin. I love this sweater that I got from Forever 21. As you all know I am a huge fan of backless anything, and the back design of this sweater is so stinkin' cute! The browns just doesn't have to be in your shirts or sweaters, but, it can be with pants or boots as well! Anything brown will give that little extra pop to your wardrobe! Maroon in BloomIf there is anytime to wear maroon it is during the fall seasons! I love the colors of the leaves as they change and blend in with the atmosphere of Autumn perfectly. My favorite way to wear maroon is with skinny jeans. This color on bottom is so flattering and goes so well with some brown leather, knee high, boots. Pairing this color with a white or creme is always a beautiful combination. Like the picture to the left I'd wear it with a white button down, a scarf, and a beautiful classic watch. With this outfit you're ready for work and could easily use this for a night of cocktails as well. I also love infinity scarfs and the perfect time to rock them is during Autumn as well! Pairing this scarf with the same color lipstick would make you stand out. Maroon hair and nails are also becoming increasingly popular especially around this time so get out of your comfort zone and bloom in maroon. Burnt Orange: Feeling the BurnGuys I am feeling the burn for this burnt orange attire! You have to be so careful with orange, I personally, am not always a fan of wearing orange. However, this darker, rustic colored orange is perfect for all skin colors and body types. This dress to my right is perfect for a nice rooftop during the evening. Pairing this with a white colored cardigan will bring it altogether, being cute, and keeping you warm at the same time. These pants are perfect for the work day and is such a fun shape. I am a fan of high-wasted pants because they're so flattering so this combo is definitely something you'd catch me wearing during Sept, October, and November. Honestly, fall is seriously the best because you get a taste of warm and cold wrapped up in one. There's something magical about all the colors as well and I had so much fun bringing them to life in clothing for you all! What is your favorite fall color to wear? Message me below or DM me on IG I'd love to hear from you all! Remember, to get out your comfort zone and rock any of these colors, shine like the star you are! I love these colors and hopefully this post has inspired you as well!
Until next time, Happy Friyay Babes!! xoxo Rachel A Timeless PieceI remember being a little girl sitting in front of the television watching Disney movies for hours on end. I could see the summer sun as it shone brightly in the sky all the way to the whimsical colors of the sunset as it began to disappear. Time wasn't of the essence back then because everything seemed to move so slowly. As I got to college my time became more precious and I realized that it sped up and ever since it's gotten more and more precious. Now that I work as an actress and blogger my time is valuable especially when I need to make deadlines or be on time for an audition. Sometimes, my phone, and the numerous alarms can get a bit maddening. I wanted something timeless, something sophisticated, something that described me. I was so lucky to get the opportunity to work with JORD Watches because their collection is bold, a fashion statement on the wrist, and is something I am thrilled to show you all.
