That Buisness DressImagine your heart pounding, palms sweaty, and your mind racing. You're sitting there, looking at your competition as they all go in, resume in hand, confidence exuding their exterior. You're nervous, hoping, that you will nail this interview and potentially see yourself in your new role. The last thing that you want to have on your mind is did you dress for the part? Job interviews can be one of the most stressful things that we go through in our adult lives. There's a lot of pressure put on someone, whether they fit the criteria, or how they act, all the way down to how they dress. Even though we hate to admit it first impressions can be everything. I have been on quite a few interviews over the years especially after graduating college, and I am going to list my top 3 go to business attires that will WOW the bosses interviewing you. My first is the business casual dress, I love vibrancy, like the yellow one that I chose to wear above. This dress is from New York and Company and it's quite form fitting while being elongating. Not only is it covering a lot of my body, which is appropriate for an interview, but it's also sophisticated with a bit of fun added. I love the collar neck and the buttons going down the front of the dress. I'm always a bright person, so I used a vibrant mustard color because it's perfect for the summery months. I paired it with some Kristen Cavallari yellow heels that I simply adore. If you want to get way more sophisticated you can pair this awesome dress with a nice white blazer. I recommend wearing blazers especially if you're wanting to look very business professional. It's okay to play around with your outfit, you can even add a bit of costume jewelry, just don't make anything to gaudy. You want to maintain the trendy yet professional look as you dress to impress your boss to be. Remember, it won't kill you to add a bit of color to your interview outfit but remember to keep some aspects minimalist. Not only is it flattering showing off curves without being revealing, but, it can be as colorful or neutral as you want it to be. This high-wasited pencil skirt with the matching jacket is perfect for a first impression. Not only is the color a nude and natural color but you can play around with some colorful accent jewelry to make it stand out more. Always pair the skirt and jacket with a blank canvas, aka a white or creme colored under shirt. That way it doesn't get too distracting and messy but stays clean and crisp. I would wear some nice nude heels. Remember ladies, nothing too high, you don't want to look too made up. Something perfect to walk in, that wouldn't make you stumble about. I am obsessed with this vibrant blue jacket and matching business pants. Pairing this with a nice dress shirt, in either black or white, can make you embody a vibe of business chic. I love the detail that the silk cami has underneath making it perfect for a great night out also. You can rock your interview, with the jacket, then afterwards remove the jacket and meet your girls out for a celebratory drink later. The best part about this outfit is that it doesn't even need a lot of jewelry, the simplicity of it all speaks for itself. When you dress, to benefit you, it makes you feel like the ideal version of yourself.
Walk into that interview with your head held high. Remember, that you are special and no matter what, that employer is lucky to have you. I hope these tips have helped give you an idea on what to wear for an interview. Either way, smile, and hold your head up high! Remember, no matter what you wear you are beautiful. Until next time happy FriYaY! xoxo Rachel
