A lot of young adults, blooming into their careers, have the same question on their mind. How can I explore, have fun, and hang out with my friends while not breaking the bank? I ask myself that constantly because I'm someone who is going to school along with being a teacher on summer vacation.
It's simple, find places that are beautiful, but pick items on their menu that doesn't break the bank. Recently, my friends and I visited Restoration Hardware. It's a swanky little restaurant inside of a rather large showroom. The items inside of the show room are to die for, so if you're feeling elegant I suggest you check it out. The place may make you think of The Hills, or the Upper West Side in New York, but there are some items on the menu that won't send you into shock.
My friends were excited to get the eggs, with toast, and avocado. Drum roll, it was under twenty dollars! That's right, and it looked, smelled, and was delicious. Now, if you're feeling a bit fancier, I tried the lobster roll which was under thirty. It was superb, which is difficult to find in the Chicago area.
Afterwards, my friend's suggested a happy hour, who doesn't love drinks under ten dollars, I know I do! The AC Hotel in Chicago had a lovely little bar tucked inside the hotel. Not only were there great cocktails, on top of friendly service, but the drinks were under ten dollars from five to seven!
All in all, there are ways to have a great time and explore the city without causing mass stress. We're young, adventurous, and it's exciting when you find places that certainly peak your interest. I will try to update weekly on this blog, showing different places to explore around the city. Until next time, may your weekends be long and your bellies full.
ALSO, if you have suggestions on places to explore let me know in the comments.
